Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
देवपत्न्यश्न कन्याश्ष् देवानां चैव मातर: । आजम्मुः सहितास्तत्र तदा भगुकुलोद्वह
devapatnyaś ca kanyāś ca devānāṃ caiva mātaraḥ | ājagmuḥ sahitās tatra tadā bhṛgukulodvaha bhṛgukulabhūṣaṇa ||
Wika ni Vasiṣṭha: Ang mga asawa ng mga diyos, ang mga dalagang makalangit, at maging ang mga ina ng mga diyos ay dumating doon nang magkakasama. O pinakadakila at hiyas ng angkan ni Bhṛgu, sila’y pumaroon upang makibahagi sa banal na ritwal—ipinakikita na maging ang kaayusang maka-diyos ay nagkakaisa upang parangalan ang yajña na isinasagawa nang ayon sa dharma at sa disiplinang nagtataguyod nito.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse highlights the sanctity and social-cosmic importance of a properly upheld sacred rite: when dharma is embodied through disciplined ritual order, even divine beings are portrayed as gathering in harmony to honor it.
Vasiṣṭha describes a grand assembly at the site of a rite: the wives of the gods, celestial maidens, and the mothers of the gods arrive together, and the addressee is respectfully hailed as the foremost ornament of the Bhṛgu lineage.
