To cultivate purity and dharmic orientation through daily remembrance of the cow’s sanctity and beneficence—symbolizing nourishment, generosity, and auspicious order—so that one’s everyday moral lapses are counteracted by disciplined, reverent recollection.
Vasiṣṭha addresses a king and gives a short japa-style formula: the speaker imagines cows before, behind, all around, and oneself dwelling among them, presenting this as a daily practice connected with purification and the removal of sins accrued in ordinary life.
