Origin and Supremacy of Gold as Ritual Fee
इत्याचम्य जपेत् सायं प्रातश्न॒ पुरुष: सदा । यदल्ला कुरुते पापं तस्मात् स परिमुच्यते
ity ācamya japet sāyaṁ prātaś ca puruṣaḥ sadā | yad ahnā kurute pāpaṁ tasmāt sa parimucyate ||
Wika ni Vasiṣṭha: “O Hari, dapat laging magsagawa ang tao ng ācamana at bigkasin ang pormulang ito sa umaga at sa dapithapon. Anumang kasalanang magawa niya sa maghapon, mula roon siya’y ganap na napapalaya.” Itinatanghal ng aral ang araw-araw na paglilinis at ang mapitagang pagbigkas—lalo na kaugnay ng kabanalan ng baka at ng ghee—bilang disiplinang pagsisisi at paglilinis ng asal.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Regular purification (ācamana) and disciplined japa at dawn and dusk function as a daily prāyaścitta: the practitioner is said to be freed from the day’s moral faults, emphasizing routine self-cleansing and reverence-based restraint.
Vasiṣṭha instructs the king on a prescribed daily practice: after ācamana one should recite the given formula morning and evening; the verse states the promised result—release from sins committed during the day.
