Transliteration

hṛtaṃ kṛpaṇa-vittaṃ hi rāṣṭraṃ hanti nṛpa-śriyam | dadyāc ca mahato bhogān kṣudhyaṃ praṇudet satām ||

Translation

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Tunay na ang yaman na inagaw mula sa mga dukha ay sumisira sa kaharian at sa kasaganaan ng hari. Kaya’t ang pinuno ay hindi dapat kumuha ng ari-arian ng mahihirap; sa halip, dapat niyang bigyan sila ng saganang ikabubuhay at itaboy ang pighati ng gutom mula sa mga taong matuwid.”
