उपच्छन्नं प्रकाशं वा वृत्त्या तान्‌ प्रतिपालयेत्‌ । जिन ब्राह्मणोंका आचरण निन्दित न हो

upacchannaṁ prakāśaṁ vā vṛttyā tān pratipālayet |

Wika ni Bhishma: “Dapat alalayan ang gayong mga Brahmin—sa paraang lihim man o hayagan—sa pamamagitan ng pag-aayos ng kanilang ikabubuhay at patuloy na pagsuporta sa kanila, lalo na kung ang kanilang asal ay walang kapintasan ngunit sila’y nagdurusa dahil sa kakulangan ng kabuhayan. Ang diwang-dharma nito: ang mga tagapangalaga ng lipunan ay dapat kusang maghanap sa mga karapat-dapat at tiyaking sila’y napapanatili, nang hindi nasasaktan ang kanilang dangal.”
