Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
तस्मिन् वक्षे तथाभूते कोटरेषु चिरोषित: । न जहाति शुको वासं तस्य भक्त्या वनस्पते:
tasmin vakṣe tathābhūte koṭareṣu ciroṣitaḥ | na jahāti śuko vāsaṃ tasya bhaktyā vanaspateḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Nang ang punò ay dumating sa gayong kalagayan, ang isang loro na matagal nang naninirahan sa mga guwang nito ay hindi pa rin iniwan ang kanyang tahanan. Dahil sa debosyon at pagkakapit ng loob sa punò, nanatili siya roon kahit ito’y nalalanta—larawang nagtuturo ng katapatan at pasasalamat na hindi tumatalikod sa sinandigan sa oras ng paghina.
