Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
स तीक3्षणविषदिग्धेन शरेणातिबलात् क्षतः । उत्सृज्य फलपत्राणि पादप: शोषमागत:
sa tīkṣṇaviṣadigdhena śareṇātibalāt kṣataḥ | utsṛjya phalapatrāṇi pādapaḥ śoṣam āgataḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Tinamaan nang buong lakas ng palasong pinahiran ng matalim na lason, ang punò ay malubhang nasugatan. Nalaglag ang mga bunga at dahon, at unti-unti itong nalanta hanggang matuyo—larawan kung paanong ang nakatagong lason ay kumakalat sa loob at winawasak ang buhay mula sa kalooban.
