Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

अन्रिर्वसिष्ठो5थ भृगुः पुलस्त्य: पुलह:ः क्रतुः । अज्धिरागौतमोडगस्त्य: सुमति: सुयतात्मवान्‌

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: atrir vasiṣṭho 'tha bhṛguḥ pulastyaḥ pulahaḥ kratuḥ | aṅgirā gautamo 'gastyaḥ sumatiḥ suyātātmavān ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Ito ang mga pantas—Atri, Vasiṣṭha, Bhṛgu, Pulastya, Pulaha, Kratu, Aṅgiras, Gautama, Agastya, at si Sumati na may pusong lubhang napigil at nasupil.” Sa daloy ng salaysay, sinisimulan ng taludtod na ito ang mapitagang talaan ng mga dakilang ṛṣi, inilalarawan sila bilang huwaran ng disiplina at kapangyarihang espirituwal, upang ang dharma ay maitatag sa bigat ng banal na pamana at alaala.
