रुद्र-स्तवराजः (Rudra-Stavarāja) — Exempla of Śiva’s Boons and the Hymn’s Phalaśruti
वरो वराहो वरदो वरेण्य: सुमहास्वन: । महाप्रसादो दमन: शत्रुहा श्वेतपिज्रल:
vayudeva uvāca | varo varāho varado vareṇyaḥ sumahāsvanaḥ | mahāprasādo damanaḥ śatruhā śvetapiṅgalaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vāyu: “Siya ang Pinakamainam; ang Varāha, ang dakilang pagkakatawang-baboy-ramo; ang Tagapagkaloob ng biyaya; at ang Karapat-dapat piliin at paglingkuran. Ang kanyang ungol ay malawak at makapangyarihan. Nagkakaloob siya ng dakilang habag sa mga deboto, sumusupil sa masasama, pumupuksa sa mga kaaway, at nagpapakita ng liwanag na maputi at may bahid na ginintuang-kayumanggi.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises the divine as both compassionate and corrective: bestowing grace and boons upon devotees while restraining wrongdoing and destroying hostile forces. Ethically, it frames divine power as aligned with dharma—protecting the good and curbing the wicked.
Vāyudeva speaks a eulogy-like line listing honorific names and qualities of the deity—especially the Varāha form—highlighting majesty (mighty roar), benevolence (great grace), and protective strength (subduer and enemy-destroyer).
