Mahabharata — Anushasana Parva, Shloka 42
संधानस्य पर: कालस्तवेति च पुन: पुनः । न च मे तद् वचो मूढ: कृतवान् स सुमन्दधी: । घातयित्वेह पृथिवीं ततः स निधनं गत:
sandhānasya paraḥ kālas taveti ca punaḥ punaḥ | na ca me tad vaco mūḍhaḥ kṛtavān sa sumandadhīḥ | ghātayitveha pṛthivīṃ tataḥ sa nidhanaṃ gataḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Paulit-ulit kong sinabi sa kanya, ‘Dumating na ang tamang panahon para sa pakikipagkasundo mo.’ Ngunit ang naliligaw at ubod ng hina ang pag-unawa ay hindi sumunod sa aking payo. Matapos niyang idulot ang malawakang pagpatay sa lupaing ito, siya rin ay humantong sa sarili niyang kapahamakan.”
