सांख्यप्रसादो दुर्वासा: सर्वसाधुनिषेवित: । प्रस्कन्दनो विभागज्ञो5तुल्यो यज्ञविभागवित्
sāṅkhya-prasādo durvāsāḥ sarva-sādhu-niṣevitaḥ | praskandano vibhāga-jño 'tulyo yajña-vibhāga-vit ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “Si Durvāsā—na ang diwa’y nalulugod sa kaalamang Sāṅkhya na marunong maghiwalay ng ātman at di-ātman—ay iginagalang at pinaglilingkuran ng lahat ng banal na tao; may kapangyarihang magpaalis maging sa dakila sa kanilang kinalalagyan; ganap na nakaaalam ng makatarungang paghahati ng mga gawa ng mga nilalang at ng mga bunga nito; walang kapantay; at dalubhasa sa wastong paghahati ng mga bahagi ng handog sa yajña.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises an ideal spiritual authority: inner clarity born of discriminative wisdom (Sāṅkhya), moral discernment about the distribution of deeds and results, and precise knowledge of ritual propriety. Ethical power is portrayed as grounded in insight and right order—both in conduct (karma-phala) and in sacred duty (yajña).
Vāyu is describing the sage Durvāsā by listing his defining qualities—his serenity from Sāṅkhya insight, his reverence among the righteous, his formidable potency, and his expertise in both moral causality and sacrificial procedure—thereby establishing Durvāsā’s stature and authority within the episode.
