Mahabharata — Anushasana Parva, Shloka 24
प्रदाता सर्वलोकानां विश्व चाप्युच्यते महत् । ज्येष्ठभूतं वदन्त्येनं ब्राह्यणा ऋषयो5परे
pradātā sarvalokānāṁ viśva cāpy ucyate mahat | jyeṣṭhabhūtaṁ vadanty enaṁ brāhmaṇā ṛṣayo 'pare ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “Siya ang mapagkaloob sa lahat ng daigdig, na nagbibigay sa mga nilalang ng kanilang minimithi. Ang malawak na sansinukob na ito mismo ay ipinahahayag na kanyang pagpapakita. Kaya’t ipinahahayag ng mga brāhmaṇa at ng iba pang mga rishi na siya ang pinakamatanda—ang pinakapanguna at pinakapangunahin sa lahat ng mga nilalang.”
