इत्युक्ते वचने तस्मिन् प्रद्युम्नेन तथा त्वहम् । प्रत्यत्रुवं महाराज यत् तच्छुणु समाहित:
ity ukte vacane tasmin pradyumnena tathā tv aham | pratyabravaṁ mahārāja yat tac chṛṇu samāhitaḥ | asmin loke raukmiṇeya tathāmuṣmin śṛṇu putraka mahārāja | brāhmaṇānāṁ pūjanena kiṁ phalaṁ labhyate tad ahaṁ vakṣyāmi | brāhmaṇānāṁ rājā somaś candramāḥ | ata ete ’smin loke tathāmuṣmin sukha-duḥkha-pradāne samarthāḥ ||
Nang masabi ni Pradyumna ang mga salitang iyon, ako’y sumagot, O dakilang hari: pakinggan mo nang may natipong diwa ang aking sasabihin. O anak ni Rukmiṇī, anak ko, makinig ka. Ipaliwanag ko ang bungang nakukuha sa paggalang sa mga Brahmin. Ang hari sa mga Brahmin ay si Soma, ang Buwan; kaya’t may kapangyarihan sila, sa mundong ito at sa kabila, na magbigay ng ligaya at pagdurusa.
वायुदेव उवाच
Honoring Brahmins is presented as a powerful ethical act with consequences in both this world and the next; Brahmins are portrayed as capable of influencing one’s experience of happiness and suffering, underscoring the dharmic importance of reverence and proper conduct toward them.
After Pradyumna speaks, Vāyudeva responds and begins an instruction: he asks Pradyumna to listen attentively and announces that he will explain the results of worshiping/honoring Brahmins, linking their status to Soma (the Moon) as their ‘king’ and emphasizing their potency across worlds.
