आचारप्रशंसा

Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

तदावसेत्‌ सदा प्राज्ञो भवार्थी मनुजेश्वर । मनुजेश्वर! अपनी उन्नति चाहनेवाले विद्वान्‌ पुरुषको उचित है कि ब्राह्मणके द्वारा वास्तुपूजनपूर्वक आरम्भ कराये और अच्छे कारीगरके द्वारा बनाये हुए घरमें सदा निवास करे

tad āvaset sadā prājño bhavārthī manu-jeśvara |

Wika ni Bhishma: “O panginoon ng mga tao, ang marunong na naghahangad ng kasaganaan ay nararapat na laging manirahan sa isang bahay na mahusay ang pagkakagawa—yaong sinimulan matapos isagawa ng isang brāhmaṇa ang pagsamba sa Vāstu, at itinayo ng mga bihasang manggagawa.”

Educational Q&A

Prosperity and well-being are supported by disciplined, dharmic conduct even in worldly matters: begin construction with proper ritual sanctification (Vāstu-pūjana by a brāhmaṇa) and rely on competent workmanship; then live steadily in such a rightly established home.

In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) on practical dharma. Here he gives guidance on how a ruler or householder should establish a residence—ritually and ethically—so that one’s life and governance rest on auspicious, orderly foundations.
