Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

अभश्रृत्थामा ततो जज्ञे द्रोणादेव महाबल: । तथैव धृष्टद्युम्नोडपि साक्षादग्निसमद्युति:

aśvatthāmā tato jajñe droṇād eva mahābalaḥ | tathaiva dhṛṣṭadyumno 'pi sākṣād agnisamadyutiḥ |

Wika ni Dāśa: Pagkaraan nito, isinilang mula kay Droṇa ang makapangyarihang Aśvatthāmā. Gayundin, habang isinasagawa ang handog na sakripisyo, si Dhṛṣṭadyumna ay lumitaw mula mismo sa naglalagablab na apoy, maningning na wari’y si Agni sa katauhan. Ang matapang na bayani’y sumulpot na may tangan na busog, itinadhana para sa pagkapuksa ni Droṇācārya—isang pangyayaring nagpapahiwatig kung paanong ang lakas ng ritwal at ang kapalaran ng digmaan ay nagtatagpo, at nagbubukas ng mabibigat na tanong sa dharma hinggil sa paghihiganti, tungkulin, at halaga ng pakikidigma.
