Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
ज्ञेयं विवादपर्वात्र कर्णस्यापि महात्मन: । निर्याणं च तत: पर्व कुरुपाण्डवसेनयो:,इसी प्रसंगमें महात्मा कर्णका विवादपर्व है। तदनन्तर कौरव एवं पाण्डव-सेनाका निर्याणपर्व है
jñeyaṃ vivādaparvātra karṇasyāpi mahātmanaḥ | niryāṇaṃ ca tataḥ parva kurupāṇḍavasenayoḥ ||
Dito dapat maunawaan ang bahaging tinatawag na “Dispute Parvan,” na tumutukoy sa dakilang-loob na si Karṇa. Pagkaraan nito ay dumarating ang Parvan na naglalarawan ng pag-alis (pagmartsa) ng mga hukbo ng Kuru at Pāṇḍava. Ipinahihiwatig ng salaysay ang paglipat mula sa pagtatalo at tunggalian tungo sa organisadong pagkilos patungo sa digmaan, na nagpapakita kung paanong ang di-nalulutas na alitan ay tumitigas at nagiging sama-samang labanan.
