Linga Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 26

सप्तद्वीप-सप्तसमुद्र-वर्णनम् तथा प्रियव्रतवंश-राज्यविभागः

अलदं जलदस्याथ वर्षं प्रथममुच्यते कुमारस्य तु कौमारं द्वितीयं परिकीर्तितम्

aladaṃ jaladasyātha varṣaṃ prathamamucyate kumārasya tu kaumāraṃ dvitīyaṃ parikīrtitam

Para kay Jalada (ulap ng ulan), ang unang varṣa ay tinatawag na Alada. Para kay Kumāra, ang ikalawang yugto ay ipinahahayag bilang Kaumāra, ang panahon ng pagkabata.
