No specific Yoga practice is taught in this verse; it functions as lineage-context. In the Kurma Purana, such narrative sections frame later soteriological instruction (including Pāśupata-oriented discipline and devotion) found elsewhere, especially in the Upari-bhāga.
The verse directly focuses on Vāsudeva’s lineage and does not mention Śiva; however, within the Kurma Purana’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis, Vaiṣṇava genealogies coexist with teachings that honor Śiva and Viṣṇu as harmonized manifestations of the Supreme.
