Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial
श्रीशुक उवाच इत्यर्थित: स भगवान् कृपालुर्ब्रह्मण: सुत: । श्रपयित्वा चरुं त्वाष्ट्रं त्वष्टारमयजद्विभु: ॥ २७ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca ity arthitaḥ sa bhagavān kṛpālur brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ śrapayitvā caruṁ tvāṣṭraṁ tvaṣṭāram ayajad vibhuḥ
Sinabi ni Śrī Śuka—Nang siya’y pakiusapan nang gayon, si Aṅgirā Ṛṣi, ang mahabaging anak sa isip ni Brahmā, at dahil sa dakilang kapangyarihan, ay nagpaluto ng caru (matamis na handog) para kay Tvaṣṭā at nagsagawa ng yajña sa pag-aalay ng mga oblation.
This verse shows a dharmic yajña being performed with the proper oblation (caru) to propitiate the intended deity (Tvaṣṭā), indicating that ritual acts are carried out with specific intent and procedure.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is speaking. In the narrative he describes how, after being requested, the son of Brahmā arranges a sacrifice and offers the cooked caru specifically for Tvaṣṭā, following the purpose of that rite.
Undertake spiritual or religious duties with clarity of purpose, correct method, and compassion—doing the right act in the right way, rather than acting carelessly or impulsively.
