FAQs

It teaches practical kṛṣi-vidyā: key farm operations—sowing, field-clearing/weeding, threshing, ploughing, and removing pests—done properly make the work reliably fruitful.

Beyond theology, it records applied knowledge of agronomy and rural productivity, showing the Purana’s coverage of governance and economy (artha) alongside ritual and myth.

The verse frames diligent, well-executed livelihood work as “amogha” (not fruitless), implying steady merit and prosperity through righteous, disciplined action.
