FAQs

Vāstu-vidyā: it enumerates specific Vāstu-deities (as ‘tattvas’) to be invoked/recognized on the building-site maṇḍala for securing success (vijaya) in construction and consecration.

It shows the Purāṇa functioning as a technical manual by preserving specialized architectural-ritual catalogues (Vāstudevatā lists), alongside its many other domains like dharma, iconography, and rites.

Correctly acknowledging Vāstu-deities harmonizes the sacred space, removes ritual obstacles (doṣa), and is held to support auspicious outcomes—symbolized here as ‘victory’ (vijaya).
