It lists specific Caṇḍī-associated protective mantra-names (e.g., Mahāsudarśana, Vyoma-vyāpī, Viṭapa-nāśika, Pātāla-nārasiṃha) used for graha-ardana—neutralizing harmful planetary/seizing influences in graha-śānti practice.
Rather than narrative theology alone, it preserves a practical catalogue of applied mantra-technology—names and classifications of protective formulas—showing the Purana’s compendium-style coverage of ritual, tantra, and remedial rites.
By invoking Devī/Caṇḍī’s protective power through these mantras, the practitioner seeks purification and mitigation of adverse karmic results manifesting as graha-afflictions, restoring auspiciousness and mental steadiness.
