अदंशमवगुप्तं स्याद्दंशमेवं चतुर्विधम् त्रयो द्व्येकक्षता दंशा वेदना रुधिरोल्वणा

adaṃśamavaguptaṃ syāddaṃśamevaṃ caturvidham trayo dvyekakṣatā daṃśā vedanā rudhirolvaṇā

Ang sugat na walang tunay na bakas ng kagat ay tinatawag na avagupta, isang nakatagong pamamaga na hindi mula sa kagat. Ang tunay na kagat (daṃśa) ay may apat na uri; kabilang dito ang may tatlong butas, dalawang butas, o isang butas—na may katangiang kirot at masaganang pagdurugo.
