FAQs

It teaches an Ayurvedic chikitsā remedy: preparing a herbal lepa (topical paste) and applying it to the danta-mūla (gums/tooth-roots) to relieve toothache.

Beyond theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical medical protocols—here, a specific pharmacological formulation and route of administration for dental pain—showing its wide, handbook-like scope.

While primarily medical, such guidance supports dharma by maintaining bodily fitness for daily duties, worship, and recitation; alleviating pain helps sustain regular religious and social observances.
