इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये विष्णुपवित्रारोहणं नाम षट्त्रिंशो ऽध्यायः अथ सप्तत्रिंशो ऽध्यायः सर्वदेवपवित्रारोहणविधिः अग्निर् उवाच सङ्क्षेपात् सर्वदेवानां पवित्रारोहणं शृणु पवित्र सर्वलक्ष्म स्यात् स्वरसानलगं त्वपि

ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye viṣṇupavitrārohaṇaṃ nāma ṣaṭtriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ atha saptatriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ sarvadevapavitrārohaṇavidhiḥ agnir uvāca saṅkṣepāt sarvadevānāṃ pavitrārohaṇaṃ śṛṇu pavitra sarvalakṣma syāt svarasānalagaṃ tvapi

Kaya nga, sa Agni Purāṇa, natapos ang ika-36 na kabanata na pinamagatang “Paglalagay ng Pavitra para kay Viṣṇu.” Ngayon ay nagsisimula ang ika-37 kabanata: “Pamamaraan ng Paglalagay ng Pavitra para sa Lahat ng mga Diyos.” Sinabi ni Agni: “Pakinggan ninyo sa maikling paraan ang ritwal ng paglalagay ng pavitra para sa lahat ng mga diyos. Ang pavitra ay dapat may lahat ng mapalad na palatandaan, at dapat ding iugnay sa wastong tunog ng mantra at sa banal na apoy na pinabanal.”
