It gives a procedural cue for ritual closure (visarjana) and sequencing of worship: after dismissal, one should worship Someśa and then Viṣvaksena (Viṣṇu’s attendant-commander) as part of orderly rite-completion.
Beyond mythology, it preserves practical liturgical protocol—naming specific deities (Someśa, Viṣvaksena) and indicating worship-order and discharge—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s role as a compact ritual handbook alongside its broader doctrinal material.
Correct visarjana and proper honoring of Viṣṇu’s attendant (Viṣvaksena) are presented as safeguards for ritual purity and efficacy, supporting the devotee’s auspicious passage toward Viṣṇu’s abode (viṣṇuloka) and the rite’s merit (puṇya).
