Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Mantra","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Pañcarātra-style pūjā/homa closure: offering a fixed count of oblations to satisfy invoked vyūhas/tattvas, then performing formal visarjana (ritual dismissal) with their mantras to seal the rite and prevent lingering invocation.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Aṣṭāṣṭāhuti-santarpana and Mantra-visarjana of Vāsudeva and Emanational Principles","lookup_keywords":["aṣṭāṣṭāhuti","santarpana","Vāsudeva-ādi","janana-tattva","visarjana"],"quick_summary":"Complete the rite by sequentially satisfying the invoked powers with 8×8 oblations, then dismiss Vāsudeva and associated emanational principles using their own mantras to close the ritual field."}

Concept: Invoked divinities/tattvas must be ritually satisfied and then properly withdrawn (visarjana) to restore ordinary ontic boundaries after sacred intensification.

Application: Always perform mantra-based dismissal after offerings; treat closure as integral, not optional, to avoid ritual ‘leakage’ and to complete saṃskāra.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Vaishnava/Pancharatra-style ritual procedure and mantra-nyasa)

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A ritualist in a yajñaśālā offers counted oblations into a fire altar, then performs mantra-gestures to dismiss Vāsudeva and the emanational principles from a mandala.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala temple mural style, warm earthy palette, yajñaśālā with homa-kuṇḍa, priest performing āhuti with ladle, subtle mandala lines showing Vāsudeva-ādi as luminous forms being respectfully withdrawn, traditional ornamentation, flat iconic composition","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, gold-leaf highlights on the fire altar and divine aura, priest seated with āhuti spoon, Vāsudeva-ādi depicted as small radiant icons above the kuṇḍa, ornate borders, rich reds and greens","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting style, clean linework, instructional clarity: sequence of 8×8 offerings indicated by small tally marks near the kuṇḍa, then visarjana mudrā and mantra scroll motifs, calm interior yajñaśālā","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, detailed yajña pavilion, attendants with ritual vessels, fire rendered with fine strokes, a faint cloud-like procession of deities dissolving upward as dismissal occurs, delicate textiles and architecture"}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Shuddha Saveri","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

FAQs

It teaches the concluding rite (visarjana) of worship: propitiate the invoked powers with 64 oblations in proper order, then dismiss Vāsudeva and associated emanations using their respective mantras.

Beyond theology, it preserves applied liturgical technology—counts of oblations, sequencing (krama), mantra-specific operations, and formal closure—showing the text’s practical coverage of temple/household ritual systems alongside other sciences.

Proper visarjana prevents ritual incompleteness: it respectfully releases invoked deities/emanations, seals the rite, and is held to preserve purity (śuddhi) and the intended merit (puṇya) of the worship.
