FAQs

It signals a shift into a framed narrative about a king, using cosmographic settings (heaven; Ilāvṛta-varṣa) typical of Purāṇic storytelling and worldview mapping.

Ilāvṛta-varṣa, a central region in Purāṇic cosmography (often associated with the cosmic axis around Meru rather than a directly mappable modern location).

Implicitly, the verse valorizes tapas (austerity/discipline) and renown tied to disciplined life, setting the ethical tone for the ensuing exemplum.
