ततो ब्रह्मोपसंहारे तल्लयं तिष्ठते चिरम् । पुनः सृष्टौ भवेद् देवो वैराजानां महातपाः ॥ ३९.६६ ॥

tato brahmopasaṁhāre tallayaṁ tiṣṭhate ciram | punaḥ sṛṣṭau bhaved devo vairājānāṁ mahātapāḥ || 39.66 ||

ต่อมาเมื่อถึงมหาปรลัยอันเป็นการอุปสังหารของพระพรหม เขายังคงอยู่ในภาวะหลอมรวมอยู่นาน ครั้นถึงกาลสร้างใหม่ เทพผู้ยิ่งด้วยตบะนั้นย่อมบังเกิดในหมู่วิราช
