अगस्त्य उवाच । विष्णुशर्मेति विख्यातः पुराभूद्ब्राह्मणोत्तमः । वेदवेदांगतत्त्वज्ञो धर्मकर्मसमाश्रितः
agastya uvāca | viṣṇuśarmeti vikhyātaḥ purābhūdbrāhmaṇottamaḥ | vedavedāṃgatattvajño dharmakarmasamāśritaḥ
พระอคัสตยะกล่าวว่า: กาลก่อนมีพราหมณ์ผู้ประเสริฐผู้หนึ่งมีนามเลื่องลือว่า ‘วิษณุศรมัน’ ท่านรู้แจ้งตัตตวะแห่งพระเวทและเวทางคะ และตั้งมั่นในธรรมกิจและจริยาวัตรอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์
