sūrya uvāca | acireṇaiva kālena bhagavāṃstripurāṃtakaḥ | saṃprāpsyatyuttamaṃ liṃgamunnate sthāna uttame
Sūrya
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (Durgāditya context; Śiva-liṅga emphasis)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣi assembly (frame implied)
Scene: Sūrya speaks prophetically to Devī: soon Tripurāntaka (Śiva) will obtain/manifest a supreme liṅga at an exalted place; the scene blends solar radiance with Śaiva symbolism (liṅga, trident, ash).
Sacred places unify devatā-upāsanā: Sūrya’s grace points toward Śiva’s liṅga-presence as the highest refuge.
An “Unnata-sthāna” (exalted spot) in Prabhāsa-kṣetra associated with a supreme Śiva-liṅga.
No direct ritual is prescribed here; it foretells the establishment/attainment of a supreme liṅga at the site.
