ये नरास्तु जितक्रोधा जितलोभा जितेंद्रियाः । ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्याः शूद्राश्चादम्भमत्सराः

ye narāstu jitakrodhā jitalobhā jiteṃdriyāḥ | brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyā vaiśyāḥ śūdrāścādambhamatsarāḥ

แต่ผู้ใดก็ตามที่ชนะความโกรธ ชนะความโลภ และสำรวมอินทรีย์ได้—จะเป็นพราหมณ์ กษัตริย์ แพศย์ หรือศูทร—ปราศจากมายาแห่งความเสแสร้งและความริษยา ผู้นั้นแลสมควรแก่ผลแท้แห่งทีรถะนี้
