Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) addressing the sages (deduced from Prabhāsa-khaṇḍa narrative style)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A public pavilion near the tīrtha hosts goṣṭhī-śrāddha: multiple families, priests, orderly offerings; in a parallel vignette, a penitent sponsor performs śuddhi-śrāddha with subdued demeanor and simple offerings.
Śrāddha supports both social dharma (performed in a community setting) and inner dharma (performed for purification), integrating society and spirituality.
The classifications are taught within the Prabhāsakṣetra-māhātmya, a glorification of Prabhāsa as a dharmic field for rites.
Two more śrāddha types are defined: goṣṭhī-śrāddha (in an assembly) and śuddhi-śrāddha (for purification from sin).
