वितस्तिमात्रमश्नीयाद्दीर्घं ह्रस्वं च वर्जयेत् । उदङ्मुखो वा प्राङ्मुखः सुखासीनोऽथ वाग्यतः

vitastimātramaśnīyāddīrghaṃ hrasvaṃ ca varjayet | udaṅmukho vā prāṅmukhaḥ sukhāsīno'tha vāgyataḥ

พึงใช้ไม้ขัดฟันยาวเพียงหนึ่งวิตัสติ (หนึ่งคืบ) เว้นเสียซึ่งที่ยาวเกินหรือสั้นเกิน แล้วนั่งให้สบาย หันหน้าไปทางทิศเหนือหรือทิศตะวันออก และสงบวาจาไว้
