puṇyasaṃkhyā ca tīrthānāṃ brahmaṇā vihitā purā | dānādhyayana saṃjñānāṃ muktvā dvāravatīṃ kalau

กาลก่อน พระพรหมทรงกำหนดประมาณแห่งบุญของบรรดาตีรถะไว้แล้ว แต่ในกลียุค หากเว้นทวารวตีเสีย บุญจากทาน การศึกษาเวท และกิจธรรมอันเป็นที่รู้จัก ย่อมเสื่อมถอยลง
