आमन्त्र्य गौतमीं देवीं स्थितानि पुरतस्ततः । सर्वेषां शृण्वतां विप्रा गौतमी खिन्नमानसा । तप्ता दुर्जनसंसर्गान्नारदं दुःखिताऽब्रवीत्

ครั้นล่ำลาเทวีโคตมีแล้ว พวกเขายืนอยู่เบื้องหน้าเทวีนั้น ต่อมาเมื่อพราหมณ์ทั้งปวงกำลังสดับอยู่ โคตมีผู้จิตหม่นหมอง ถูกเผาไหม้ด้วยคบคนพาล จึงกล่าวกับนารทด้วยความโศก
