atha sarpākṛtiṃ māṃ ca duḥkhena mahatānvitam | taṭasthaṃ bhayasaṃtrastaṃ tathā sarvajanaṃ tadā

ครั้นแล้วท่านก็แลเห็นข้าพเจ้าในรูปงู ถูกความทุกข์ใหญ่ครอบงำ ยืนหลบอยู่ริมฝั่งด้วยความหวาดหวั่น และเห็นหมู่ชนทั้งปวงในกาลนั้นต่างก็สะทกสะท้านด้วยภัย
