skāṃdaṃ purāṇametacca kumāreṇa puroddhṛtam | yaḥ śṛṇoti satāṃ madhye naraḥ pāpātpramucyate

สกันทปุราณะนี้ กุมาระผู้เป็นยุวเทพได้อัญเชิญออกเผยเป็นครั้งแรก ผู้ใดสดับฟังท่ามกลางหมู่สัตบุรุษ ผู้นั้นย่อมพ้นจากบาปกรรม
