चत्वार उत्तमाः प्रोक्ता विवाहा मुनिसत्तम । शेषाः सर्वप्रकृतिषु कथिताश्च पुराविदैः

catvāra uttamāḥ proktā vivāhā munisattama | śeṣāḥ sarvaprakṛtiṣu kathitāśca purāvidaiḥ

ดูก่อนมุนีผู้ประเสริฐ การสมรสอันยอดเยี่ยมมีสี่ประการที่ประกาศไว้; ส่วนที่เหลือนั้น เหล่าผู้รู้จารีตโบราณได้กล่าวไว้ด้วย ให้เหมาะตามอุปนิสัยและสภาพต่าง ๆ
