एकस्मिन्वचने प्रोक्ते दश ब्रूते क्रुधान्विता । विरूपा भ्रममाणा च सर्वलोकविगर्हिता । कन्यादानफलैस्तेषां तत्रासां च सुखं भवेत्

เมื่อกล่าวเพียงคำเดียว นางกลับตอบสิบคำด้วยโทสะ; รูปชั่ว พเนจร และถูกคนทั้งโลกติเตียน. กระนั้น ด้วยบุญแห่งกัญญาทาน (kanyādāna) ความสุขย่อมบังเกิดแก่เขา—และแก่สตรีเหล่านั้น ณ ที่นั้นด้วย
