yasya no jāyate śuddhiḥ śākhābhirmūlavaṃśagā | nigrahastasya kartavyo dvijārho dvijasattamaiḥ

หากความบริสุทธิ์ของผู้ใดมิได้ตั้งมั่นด้วยสายสกุลย่อยที่สืบย้อนถึงรากวงศ์แล้ว ทวิชผู้ประเสริฐทั้งหลายพึงกำหนดข้อจำกัดทางวินัยแก่ผู้นั้นตามควร ดังที่เหมาะในเรื่องคุณสมบัติพราหมณ์
