प्रहस्य भगवान्प्राह नारदं प्रति वै तदा । कथमुद्वहने बुद्धिरुत्पन्ना तस्य शूलिनः । विज्ञातार्थोऽपि भगवान्नारदं परिपृष्टवान्

prahasya bhagavānprāha nāradaṃ prati vai tadā | kathamudvahane buddhirutpannā tasya śūlinaḥ | vijñātārtho'pi bhagavānnāradaṃ paripṛṣṭavān

พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงแย้มสรวลแล้วตรัสแก่นารทว่า “ความคิดเรื่องอภิเษกสมรสเกิดขึ้นแก่ผู้ทรงตรีศูลนั้นได้อย่างไร?” แม้ทรงรู้ความแล้ว พระองค์ยังทรงซักถามนารทต่อไป
