स बुद्ध्या च चिरं स्मृत्वा ब्राह्मणाश्चतपस्विनः । अवाह्याश्च भवंत्यस्मादात्मानं वाहयाम्यहम्
sa buddhyā ca ciraṃ smṛtvā brāhmaṇāścatapasvinaḥ | avāhyāśca bhavaṃtyasmādātmānaṃ vāhayāmyaham
ครั้นระลึกตรองอยู่นานด้วยปัญญา เขาจึงลงความเห็นว่า “พราหมณ์ผู้ทรงตบะนั้นแล เป็นผู้ ‘ไม่สมควรถูกใช้ให้ลาก’ เพราะฉะนั้น เราจักให้ตนเองถูกหาม (โดยพวกเขา)”
