इति जपः । कुशद्वीपे कुशस्तंबो योजनानां सहस्रकः । तच्चिह्नचिह्नितं तस्मात्कुशद्वीपं ततः स्मृतम्

iti japaḥ | kuśadvīpe kuśastaṃbo yojanānāṃ sahasrakaḥ | taccihnacihnitaṃ tasmātkuśadvīpaṃ tataḥ smṛtam

ดังนี้คือการสวดญปะ (japa) ในกุศทวีปมีพงหญ้ากุศะทอดยาวหนึ่งพันโยชนะ; ด้วยเครื่องหมายจำแนกนั้น จึงระลึกเรียกกันว่า “กุศทวีป”
