ततः सर्वानपृच्छत्स कुलं कोऽपि न वेद तत् । ततो विष्णुरिदं प्राह पृछ्यंतेऽन्ये किमर्थतः
tataḥ sarvānapṛcchatsa kulaṃ ko'pi na veda tat | tato viṣṇuridaṃ prāha pṛchyaṃte'nye kimarthataḥ
แล้วเขาก็ไต่ถามทุกคนถึงวงศ์ตระกูลของเจ้าบ่าว แต่ไม่มีผู้ใดรู้ได้ ครั้นนั้นพระวิษณุตรัสว่า “เหตุใดจึงถามผู้อื่นเล่า—มีความมุ่งหมายอันใด?”
