एकस्मिन्रक्षिते जीवे त्रैलोक्यं रक्षितं भवेत् । घातिते घातितं तद्वत्तस्माद्रक्षेन्न घातयेत्

ekasminrakṣite jīve trailokyaṃ rakṣitaṃ bhavet | ghātite ghātitaṃ tadvattasmādrakṣenna ghātayet

เมื่อคุ้มครองชีวิตแม้เพียงหนึ่ง ก็ประหนึ่งคุ้มครองไตรโลก; เมื่อฆ่าชีวิตหนึ่ง ก็ประหนึ่งฆ่าไตรโลกฉันนั้น เพราะเหตุนั้นพึงคุ้มครอง และไม่พึงก่อให้มีการฆ่า
