पुरा विष्णौ तपत्यत्र तल्लिंगं स्वयमेव हि । तत्राविरासीत्तेजस्वि तेन क्षेत्रमिदं शुभम्

กาลก่อน เมื่อพระวิษณุทรงบำเพ็ญตบะ ณ ที่นี้ ลึงค์นั้นได้ปรากฏขึ้นเองโดยแท้ ปรากฏด้วยเดชรัศมีรุ่งโรจน์ จึงทำให้เขตศักดิ์สิทธิ์นี้เป็นมงคลยิ่ง
