darśāṣṭakāsu bhūtāyāṃ śrāddhikaṃ pratigṛhya ca | pratipadyapi pūrṇāyāṃ gajoṣṭrābhyāṃ kṛtāṃtare

ในวันทัรศาและอัษฏกา ในวันภูตาอันเป็นอัปมงคล ครั้นรับเครื่องบูชาสำหรับศราทธะแล้ว และในวันประติปทาหลังวันเพ็ญด้วย—เมื่อช่วงเวลาถูกรบกวนด้วยช้างและอูฐ—พึงถือว่าเป็นกาลอนัธยายะ งดการศึกษาพระเวท
