वाराणसी स्फुरदसीमगुणैकभूमिर्यत्र स्थितास्तनुभृतःशशिभृत्प्रभावात् । सर्वे गले गरलिनोऽक्षियुजो ललाटे वामार्धवामतनवोऽतनवस्ततोंऽते

vārāṇasī sphuradasīmaguṇaikabhūmiryatra sthitāstanubhṛtaḥśaśibhṛtprabhāvāt | sarve gale garalino'kṣiyujo lalāṭe vāmārdhavāmatanavo'tanavastatoṃ'te

พาราณสีเป็นผืนดินเอกที่คุณความดีไร้ขอบเขตส่องประกาย ด้วยเดชพระศิวะผู้ทรงจันทร์เป็นมงกุฎ สรรพสัตว์ผู้มีร่างกายที่พำนัก ณ ที่นั้น ย่อมเป็นดุจผู้แบกพิษที่ลำคอ เป็นดุจผู้มีสามเนตรที่หน้าผาก และในรูปกายประหนึ่งได้ร่วมครึ่งซ้ายอันเป็นมงคล; ครั้นที่สุดย่อมบรรลุสภาวะไร้กาย (หลุดพ้น) ของพระองค์
