vyomāṃgaṇamanarkaṃ ca nakte'dīpaṃ yathā gṛhama | avedā brāhmaṇā yadvadgaṃgāhīnāstathā diśaḥ

ดุจท้องฟ้าหม่นไร้สุริยะ ดุจเรือนยามราตรีไร้ประทีป และดุจพราหมณ์ไร้พระเวทเสื่อมศักดิ์ศรี—ฉันใด ทิศทั้งหลายก็ยากไร้เมื่อปราศจากคงคา ฉันนั้น
